Different religions have different understandings of God but those are theological differences that have no bearing on the issue of whether there is a God or not. Most of humanity has always believed in "the Devine" in one form or another. Scientific studies even indicate that belief in the Devine is an innate belief in humans. We're born believing in something that's greater than us, that there is a purpose etc.

The default state of mankind is belief, not disbelief.
