What makes you an authority on black people? Is it because of where you live?
I find out that a lot of black folk who live in "real" areas think that they have the authority to command the "fake" or "soft" black folks what to do in life.

Why does "life" experience ALWAYS have to mean "hood life" experience? You aren't slick at all. The goal is to get to the TOP of the mountain. No one gives a shyt about your "experience" at the base of it.

I basically grew up on a farm, had one set of neighbors to deal with, and there was no crime.

If anything, you were judging on black folk from the burbs thinking that living hood rich >>> living in the burbs. I have friends from both the hood and the burbs and they ain't nowhere as judgmental as you.

Not necessarily, but that is part of the reason. Most families want to move out because they want better opportunities for their kids.
NOTHING cooks my grits more than someone, especially a black person, telling me what kind of fukking black person to be and if I don't fit your little definition then somehow I'm less black or I hate myself? Suck a sack lopsided dikks for real.
My statement was not a diss to any of my good & positive brothers/sisters living in the hood as many of us were born, raised or still reside in these communities. But in many cases we have jealous people within our race who make these generalized statements about other African Americans without even really knowing them or their real reasons or factors for moving outside the inner cities (better conditions for children or family, new job in other areas, etc). However in some cases, being in a suburb or wealthy neighborhood can also have pitfalls as well (overt and indirect racism, higher cost of living and taxes, etc).
