Imported cars that weren't sold in the US (or had a US equivalent) must be 25 years or older. I think Mercedes lobbied for that law back in the 80s or some shyt.

In the 70s and 80s you could get european coupes for cheaper ,including import fees than paying for a us version of the same car. They notice they werent making as much profit and pulled that shyt so now we gotta wait 25 years just to get the cool shyt that was never sold in the us cuz these companies wanna be greedy.

THE LAW WAS MADE TO PROTECT US AUTOMAKERS FROM FOREIGN AUTOMAKERS. MAKING CARS OVERSEAS WAS CHEAPER. IT WOULD MAKE IT SO YOUR BENZ COULD BE IMPORTED FOR 25-30% CHEAPER AND NOBODY WOULD BUY AMERICAN LUXURY.

IN GERMANY MERCEDES ARE USED AS TAXI AND POLICE CARS. THEY'RE ONLY EXPENSIVE BECAUSE OF THE COST TO HAVE THOSE CARS TESTED AND APPROVED FOR SALE IN AMERICA. THE COST CAN RUN 9 FIGURES EASILY FOR 1 MODEL OF CAR.

But I'd be damed if I get a junkyard motor, without freshening up the internals.. shyt may start knocking after a month..
