Ben Simmons is finally a PF and no longer a PG

How will this work out for Philly?

  • It will make them better

  • It will make them worse

  • No difference

It's been a whooooole lot of point guards that won a whooooole lot of games and couldn't shoot worth a damn.

He's a 6'10" Rajon Rondo/Tony Parker hybrid who's a phenomenal defender

If you as a coach/GM/Front office can't turn that player into a PnR nightmare by surrounding him with shooters and dive cutters then it's not his fault.

Tell Embiid to shut the fukk up, set the screen, and look for the dump off pass, while we run the other team to death because they can't score on us...boom, Championship.

But instead they run a slow motion ass 1996 ass offense so Embiid can post up 30 times (with 10 of them ending in either a turnover or him jacking up a 3 anyway)

TP had almost 200 3PA his rookie yr, and Rondo at least attempted 29. This dude has 23 in his career. You gotta separate can't and won't imo they're two separate arguments. I do think both Simmons and Embiid would flourish on their own teams built around them, and honestly I would rather have Ben's skillset if he would meet the team half damn way. No amount of greatness can excuse not being able to have the ball at the end of a close game

He's a natural 1 doe:dwillhuh:

Dude is a killer passer, he understands angles and spacing, and can even guard other point guards at 6'10":dwillhuh:

If he could shoot the 3 at 28-30ish % he'd literally be a hall of famer:dwillhuh:

He's a 6'10" Tony Parker (admittedly with a worse jumper) who is also an All-NBA defender

He just happens to have another transcendent talent on his team. I think on his own team he's an MVP candidate:manny:

Let's clear this up now, Benamin is not a transcendent talent

Being a good passer doesn't make you a good point guard...he's not a floor general in the halfcourt

Ben is a liability in the halfcourt as a point guard bc a primary function of a G is to help space the floor

The Spurs became champions when Tony Parker could consistently hit a pull up jumper in his 2nd yr (he couldn't as a rook)

Only way they could use him

Hes useless on the rest of the court with embiid on the floor

They need to be surrounded with 3 shooters...that could work but they need 3 floor spacers on the floor at all times

It's basically a 2 king system like Cle in 2016...only prob is ball movement will suffer

This is what the offense will look like more with Embiid and Simmons in the front court while everyone else is spread out.

Clippers had no answer for the Ben Joel pick and roll out of the post

90% of his game is that he had a huge size mismatch on 1s, so I don't know...

Rather than work on his confidence they switch him to the 4???? :what:

doesn't matter if he can't shoot, and their best player needs spacing to operate in the post. just a square peg in a round hole.
