I'd say he's overrated as a passer but nowadays people are hyping his defense and i think its well deserved

I legit would feel ok with him guarding any player in the league 1 - 5.

Simmons isn’t overrated, he’s overvalued. Good player but let’s be real. It’s obvious but ppl still gloss over it: he’s a very good player. It’s just his one limitation is the EXACT worst limitation to have in the modern nba. The biggest credit to having a star is when the game is when it’s a one possesion game and the final possesion of the game, you want your best player with the ball in his to create a shot. Analytics says that if that player doesn’t drive and kick, then 8/10 that last shot will be a jump shot. In this scenario you can’t trust Simmons in that situation.

Even if he was willing to shoot more it'd be a non-factor. Tobi or Joel are getting the last shot. It's worked so far, Sixers are one of the best 4th quarter teams in the league.

Who gets the last shot is obviously important, but so is being able to shut down the other team's best perimeter scorer.

You contradicted yourself. If he's not elite(which he is), and people are saying he is (which most people aren't) that would make him overrated.

Truth be told the only time I see/hear people mention Simmons is to hate on him.

The fact that you can realistically straight up trade a guy like Simmons for a MVP and probable top 5 player in Harden actually shows his worth around the league
