Yes. In inexcusable for him to be that bad at shooting playing in the backcourtNot just that, potentially the best defensive player in the NBA and he's giving you 16-8-8 on 55% shooting.
I mean, prime Jason Kidd was a horribly inefficient and low-volume scorer and yet he was an MVP candidate because of his defense and passing. No one calls Ben Simmons an MVP candidate, so I don't see how it's overrating him to say that he's a solid all-star who is going to lock up your best player, rebound well, make elite passes, and give you an efficient 15-16 points.
Maybe he could jack up an extra 15 shots a game and only make 5 of them, then he'd be posting Westbrook-level numbers PLUS the elite defense....would that make him more worthy of respect?
yea I know the game has changed but until he wins playing like that it’s hard to say his style of play is producing. He is too big to be a liability on offense like that.
