My point here is you're saying that it was rigged by the DNC for Hillary.

But all I'm seeing is personal gripes and excuses for why people don't vote.

Understand, you won't convince me of a scenario that justifies why someone who isn't getting what they want chooses not to vote.

It's just too counterintuitive. It's a bullshyt narrative and a losing argument.

Regarding these primaries, progressives are getting plenty of air time.

Some wins. Some losses.

But I don't see a progressive wave swiping through the democratic party in areas that weren't already dem strongholds.

And from personal experience, progressives and establishment dems aren't fighting with each other in conservative states. :manny:
I'm not saying that it was rigged as far as votes, but when you have the entire media against you, super delegates all behind one candidate and grouped with the delegates from actual voting and numerous things stopping people from voting, you're going to feel like it's all rigged.

I almost forgot Debbie Wasserman Schulz or whatever her name was being in charge. Clear conflict of interest and she was operating like so (whole debate debacle.)

Hillary's team basically took over the DNC and the while shebang. There's nothing to argue there. We're gonna act like Hillary ain't have the whole party shook of testing her too as well. Cool.

Talking about 2016 has clearly been a waste of time.

I don't know what the coverage locally has been for every race but it's always gonna be a hurdle to get over the entrenched establishment Democrats in the primaries.

As far as the conservative states argument, the argument for a lot of places that progressives make is that they would make stronger general election candidates due to trying to appeal to independents and Republicans through rhetoric around trade, corruption, bold ideaa, corporate takeover of the nation etc etc. This isn't gonna work everywhere exactly nor will it look particularly the same.

Its gonna be harder to get some of Dem voters cuz imo they are shook to be frank despite the failure of the party in past years running the same centrist campaigns. They're shook of being too progressive and have completely bought into the Democratic party thinking of having to appease conservatives on economic terms for some reason (not to mention the consultants and corporations that donate benefit from all this).

Republicans are always going to call Democrats the worst (in their eyes) and Democrats basically accept those terms/ shy away from it and play defense.

The Democratic party at all times :whoa:

(The irony lol)

I dismissed it because the DNC does not control it. :russ:

If you want your state to have open primaries, then vote for candidates in your state legislature who support it. :beli:

And the NY State Legislature is mostly Democrats so again not so much into the big tent like Democrats claim. :beli:

Then start a movement. It won't be too hard. Fully closed primaries are stupid and so are designated periods to change party affiliation. But if you aren't holding your representation accountable then :manny:

I'm fully aware of election law. But that isn't rigging the elections from a national level. That's your state's laws. People who are upset with it should make it an issue during the election or know their deadlines.

:comeon: Just like when you said you were switching back to independent from Dem now that the presidential elections had passed and you don't identify with Dems.

I'm not involved in that rigging conversation you guys are having. My point is very simple "pick a party" is an unnecessary barrier established by corrupt political machines.

When only 11 states follow this rule of law one only needs to look at the literature to understand why it was implemented.

Let's not also forget that not only is the primary CLOSED, you CAN'T even CHANGE your party. How does that make sense? You understand that means if you have a coming to jesus moment that leads you to the Republican party after November you're effectively removed from participating at all?

But :hubie:NY only has one of the lowest voter turnouts in the country

Bang up job they're doing with voter motivation :whew:
