Besides 9/11, what's a major historical event you lived through that you’ll never forget where you were when it happened?

I got a couple more events I remember clearly…

- James Brown’s death
- LeftEye’s death
- Janet’s wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl (I just missed the actual moment because I went to grab a soda from the cooler :snoop:)
- the Anthrax scare
- Sandy Hook

What was it like for the brehs who remember when MJ was acquitted?

The kirk to the fields
Really, why? From New York and lived through it but was too young to understand what was going on and to remember it.
I was on the train when that shyt happened. We had to walk through the tracks to get back to the platform.

Then me and my mom had to walk from Manhattan (forgot which part) all the way to Flatbush.

In retrospect, it wasn't that bad of a walk. But I was a kid and it was hot and the whole situation was kinda scary.

Once, I got on the block though, it was sort of fun seeing everyone outside.

Hurricane Sandy :wow:

I was in NYC when it hit and was on The Coli in the middle of it until my internet went out. I'll never forget NYC posters downplaying the storm saying they are gonna be playing 2K and smashing jumpoffs while the storm was going on..... then the storm was over NYC and posters was like :damn:

The winds that night were :wow: I lived in Flatbush at the time which is far inland so I didn't have to deal with flooding or anything like Far Rock and LES brehs did but it was still quite the experience.

9/11.

Bush declaring war in Afghanistan less than a month after 9/11.

At the time, I was too young to understand exactly what was going on, but I felt like the world had changed entirely after that event.

Katrina.

Obama winning the ‘08 election.

MJ passing away.

The OJ verdict....I remember what class I was In and who my teacher was when they read the verdict...the magnitude of that moment cannot be exaggerated.

Walking through Walmart and seeing empty food aisles on EVERY aisle..not even 1 box of cereal or 1 can of soup .... people were just standing around in disbelief...COVID was some shyt we might never see again or maybe the precursor :patrice:
