Besides C.R.E.A.M, what other megahits did Wu Tang Clan have as a group?

This thread is ridiculous. Wu Tang Singles have never done well on the Billboard Charts. Their two Biggest Hits on the Hot 100 are "Cream" (60) and "Method man" (69). Their biggest hit on the Rap charts was "Triumph"(6). But in the Hip Hop World "Protect your Neck, Method Man, Cream, Can It All Be So Simple, Triumph, Wu Tang Clan aint' nothing to F*ck With, It's Yours" are all HOOD Mega Hits which means more than the billboard charts. As far as Pop Hits. Method Man with "All I Need" and Ol' Dirty with the "Fantasy Remix and Got Your Money" were huge.

Here's the thing, though - there's no such thing as a "hit" without the Billboard charts.

That's where the term "hit" comes from, it's a "hit" if it "hits" the charts, based on spins.

So a "HOOD Mega Hit" is not that if it didn't hit the charts. That's subjective anyway, because some records are more popular in different hoods.

Actually Method Man and Ol' Dirty b*stard were the most successful Wu Members on the Billboard charts. Reakwon also had one of Wu's biggest hits with "Ice Cream" (38) which was a top 40 hit. Wu is too hard for the Billboard Charts. The Pop audience never really liked Wu's singles but their albums have done well. Wu Tang along with solo's have had 17 albums debut in the top 10 of the Billboard Charts which is more than any group in Hip Hop History. So this proves that Pop Fans and Rap fans in general buy Wu Tang for their body of work not their singles. NaS is the same way. He doesn't have a lot of high charting singles but he has 8 Platinum albums.
you mean all NY hood megahits.

None of that shyt ever got played down here

Id listen to Thug Mentality '99, Heaven's Movie, and The Gift before any Wu Solo personally but thats just me
The thing is that the number of WU solos compared to Bone solos isn't even worth comparing. The number is like 30+ Wu Solo's to maybe 10 Bone solo's. It's not even a valid argument from Wu stans

I wouldn't say that some of the tracks mentioned are just NY hits because living in the DC area, those tracks got spins on radio here too. Like I said, shimmy shimmy ya and Ice cream were big during that 95 summer and I know that cause radio played them. Hell, The Riddler got radio spins down here during that time span. I know a lot of dudes like to act like Wu didn't have reach and yeah, maybe they didn't get play in your parts of the country but lets not act like they don't have a legacy because they didn't get play on your radio stations. For them to sell the amount of records they sold, do shows overseas and have a massive hype train for Wu-Tang Forever, they had to have reach. Like someone said, video airplay was a big deal during that time and they got plenty of that

Da fukk is a hood mega hit breh? Cause I can promise you none of those songs were getting major play on the radio 3 months after release in any hood outside of New York.....And you mention Ol Dirty Rae and Method Man carrying the Wu brand as solo albums but this just proves my point that as a group there brand wasnt that strong musically as everyone on the coli likes to hype.... Great solo efforts out of the Wu Tang crew but they only had 2 solid group joints and only 1 classic out of that bunch (36 Chambers)... so with that said As a GROUP to me they just dont have enough material to warrant GOAT status

I told yall on page 1 this fakkit created this thread in an attempt to goad y'all into a thread about Bone Thugs sales. And to his credit...it worked. Dudes fell for his trolling.

Bone Thug stans intrigue me. They have some sort of inferiority complex that very few other rapper stans display. This cac, and most of the other Bone stans on the Coli, are jealous of Wu's Godlike status in hip hop. It doesn't matter if Bone sold 10x more records than Wu. That doesn't equate to them being better or having a greater legacy than the clan and it burns them. It fukking kills them. These nikkas wish their harmonizing heroes were held in such regal regards as the Clan. Ya'll dudes need to accept it and move on. Bone created some damn good music throughout their career. But they just aren't the Clan.

This is false. Bone has had a ton of Solo's:

Bizzy: 7 Solo's
Krazyie: 5 Solo's (One dropping this year)
Lazyie: 8 Solo's
Flesh: 1 Solo
Wish: Zero
Bone Brothers: 6 Albums

Bone and Wu both dropped Solo double albums in 97 and sold the same thing. The Difference was Bone had hit singles and was coming off "Crossroads" yet Wu still matched them in popularity and sales.

Looking at numbers only I could see how you would think BONE was bigger than WU.

But if you were of age during those days it shouldnt even be an argument.
Wu was one of the biggest acts ever in hip hop...and one of the first to have a huge overseas following.
There are still a lot of people walking around w/ Wu Tang tattoos.

They probably shouldnt have waited 4yrs to drop a second group Cd...but they blew up so large that they all were able to release their own album.

if you were of age, then you know bone was more popular than wutang.

I'll concede that Bone as a whole, not including solo albums, is the more popular group, but this is hip hop right? When did dudes start equating popularity with better? If you feel Bone is a better group, cool, but bringing in their popularity as a debate point is moot to me. Hammer sold more records than A LOT of dudes of that era and even in this era, but is anyone going to say Hammer is better than some of the guys who have sold less records? Not at all. Not saying Bone should be compared to Hammer or Nelly or those type of cats, but let's not act like popularity is a true sign of greatness.

Ok lets say your right... how is the GOAT group according to the coli only able to crank out 2 megahits?

Because "megahits" are for pop musicians. Wu Tang was always an albums group. Furthermore, besides obvious pop-crossovers like MC Hammer, rappers didn't start having regular "megahits" until the end of the 90s, when rap finally became accepted completely as having top-10 pop potential.

They are NOT more popular. That's one of the most unilaterally false statements made in this thread. They SOLD more records. BIG difference. Wu easily have as much, or more fans worldwide than Bone. Sold out arenas, tattoos branded on faces, this generation of fans and artists acknowledgement of their greatness leads me to KNOW so. Bone sold more simply because they make more commercially appealing music. That's it. Bone being more popular is a myth that these jealous Bone stans will wanna Barry Sanders run with in here. Stop it, breh.
