Shameful comparison.

If 1 or 2 FTs are made, or if officiating isn't absolutely sketchy as fukk for 4 consecutive games, Dirk would be a 2 time NBA Finals MVP.

It is what it is, we lost in 06. But Dirk was the only consistent All-Star on a team that won 50+ games for 11 consecutive seasons. Finley was on the backend of his career and Nash left after 2004 to go transform into MVSteve in Phoenix.

What was Paul Pierce doing before/after the Big Three? :dwillhuh:

I think Pierce is brutally underrated, but let's not act like he was doing some serious heavy lifting and carrying a franchise singlehandedly. There are only a handful of players to ever do that, and Dirk is one of them.

Smh at the disrespect for pierce. Ppl complain about dirk lack of help but pierce is the main victim of that concept.

If pierce had help in the early 2000's , the perceptive of his game would be different. Dirk Lewinski always had squads. Pierce had Antoine walker.

We see what happened the first time they built pierce a team. A ring. Dirk always had squad and always underachieved. How many times have piece team underachieved?

I would disagree here

Shut the fukk up.

2006 NBA Finals Mavericks Starters

PG: Devin Harris
SG: Adrian Griffin
SF: Josh Howard - 1x All-Star
PF: Dirk Nowtizki
C: Desegana Diop

With Jason Terry, flabbynsick Jerry Stackhouse, and EricA Dampier coming off the bench. This team beat prime San Antonio with Duncan, Parker, Manu, and Bowen AND prime Phoenix with Nash, Amar'e, Marion, and Barbosa.

Again, shut the fukk up.

Who did Pierce have before the big 3? Seriously go look who he was playing with. Dirk had teams before he won, Pierce didn't.

Never denied this. Only saying that Dirk is a guy who could anchor a team with his second best player being Jason Terry over the span of 6 years or so.

Is Pierce winning 50 games with Jason Terry and role players around him for half a decade? Is Pierce even winning 40? Or 30? Pierce had no help for those mid-2000s, but the Celtics were beyond pitiful. Lottery-bound year in, year out. If you want to be compared to a guy like Dirk who could float a team in a LOADED West for a decade, you have to be able to stand on your own 2 in a shamefully watered-down East. Or at least be respectable. Or just not be losing 50-60 games a year.
