Absolutely breh.
How I Could Just Kill A Man was huge. :wow:
Can't Truss It all over the radio :blessed:
Seeing the trailer for Juice at the movies :ohhh:
Hearing Brenda's Got A Baby on the radio :mjcry:
Mista Dobalina on the radio :gladbron:
Getting that dub of Death Certificate :whoo:
Copping my first tape (Quik is the Name) :sas1:
My mom finding it and throwing it out :wtb:
:pachaha:

a trifecta
:blessed:

how the hell does Kendrick have the same number as he does?
:mjlol:

sounds like quite the year

so that was your first album essentially? The Quik one?

mine was Eminem about 9 years later
:mjpls:

Dre's 2001 was still hot on those shelves so I remember getting them effectively around the same time can't remember which one first tho

I'm pretty young so the first album I heard probably sound funny to ya'll

But back in 04 my uncle had one of those big ass binders of bootleg albums and I was just going through one day

and the first rap album I ever heard was U Gotta Feel my by Flip

The first memory I have hearing rap was Bounce, that was the first song I learned all the lyrics too

Still love that album, and really most of Flip's shyt, probably the reason why I love southern hip hop so much when I'm from the midwest :ehh:

Based off this series Jay is Goat:banderas:

He's gonna be right up there when the series ends not just on raw votes but also when the weighting system kicks in

however having one MVP to his name so far might not be enough who knows

:ohhh:Damn 96' & 07' placement between Nas gonna determine this for Hov. 96' gon be rough for the 2nd spot

And 07'

That might be Hov outright:patrice:

Either way I'm interested on how this play out:lupe:

yeah 96 will be real tough and maybe the decider between those two, tho don't think either of them will snag the MVP that year

Jay winning 07 would be a huge deal and 2007 is the next thread later today

I really liked 2Pacalypse Now. I think it's 2Pac's best work, and marks his peak as a person and a man. It's when he stood for something and genuinely wanted to change the world. That idealistic and revolutionary spark seemed to leave him the older he got and the better he became at rapping.

Quik is the Name was fantastic too.

Never really felt Death Certificate as an overall project, it's got some mad high points that I liked - My Summer Vacation, Givin' Up the Nappy Dug Out, Color Blind - but as an overall album I never enjoyed listening to Death Certificate like I do Quik is the Name, and nor does it make me feel angry and like I have to tear this motherfukker up like 2Pacalypse Now
