This was a tough one, I voted a little differently than normal and went with Pac.

I really was considering Raekwon though, I thought his performances in 96 were better than in 95

From everything on Ironman to Nighttime Vultures, the Doe or Die remix :banderas:, the joint with Bounty Killa

Now I might have to come back in here and change my vote if Raekwon is allowed to be on the poll :ohlawd:

Given my discussion with @mobbinfms yesterday we would have put Ghost on the poll but he wasn't requested

By that same token I will add Raekwon to this poll since he is featured on the album cover and explicitly says that he is basically another member of that album along with Cappa.

Raekwon added.

man, I had to have listened to my bootleg all eyez on me cassette tape 1000 times that year.

and then The Don Killuminati :wow:

1996...will always be my favorite year for music....but just pop culture in general. it felt like EVERYTHING was popping...basketball, football, wrestling, music, movies, tv...just :wow:

#salute to The Fugees, Nas, Mob Deep, Busta, Master P, Outkast, Crucial conflict....so many...TOO many to attempt to name...and thats without even going into other genres of music...EVERYTHING was lit man

also, shoutout to Columbia House...if not for my cousin teaching me the order cds thru the mail jig...I wouldn't have been able to start my cd collection properly

Who else destroyed half the list with no response:jbhmm:

Who confronted Nas and Biggie and barked onnthem both like they were his sons and had them in awe?had them seeing John Henry the steel driving man:jbhmm:?

Who else tore one coast to smithereens while bridging the Bay and La,and was about to make the west coast even stronger:wow:

Theres only one choice here and thats Pac:wow:

Many stars this year

Pac, Nas, Fugees (You could nominate Lauryn Hill I feel)

Then you got Prodigy, Andre 3k, Ghostface, Ice Cube

Then you got Rass Kass, Xzibit, Jay-Z, Black Thought

Even if you were dissappointed by the Tribe album I think Phife or Tip deserve a nomination

For an MVP you can go with Pac and then Nas. Both had lyrically great albums, considered classic (even if some would say on revision with IWW) and were commercially successful as held (multi-plat, hit singles and global presence)

Most will go with Pac, but since this is Best Rapper Alive...I'mma go with Nas cause he survived the 12 months :troll:
