Dude was a complete non-factor in 2011 culturally. Just coming out the gate on the freshman XXL cover. Section. 80 sold 5,000 copies as an indy digital release. I bet half the Coli didn't hear the project in '11 or even know who he was most people didn't. Yet, he won MVP. It's not like S80 was head and shoulders above the top tier 2011 releases either.

I personally would have went with Drake or given it to Jay or Kanye. Kendrick was literally a rookie building his draw off mixtapes, blogs, magazines, and Drake/Dr. Dre co-signs.

Kendrick winning 2011 was simply the Coli shytting on Drake. He had the best combination of critical acclaim, commercial success, features, influence/impact, and MVP appeal and he took the crown from Wayne when he dropped his album. The Coli doesn't like Watch The Throne much so I'm not surprised Ye nor Jay won.

Drizzy has been robbed at least twice now

I voted for him in 2011, and it shoulda been his for the taking. He honestly shoulda had 2013 too over Push a (5 am in Tornto, everybody and they mama remixed Pound Cake, etc) and once again he had a case for 2009 tho honestly that shoulda went to Ross

Secondly the fact that some of my choices had to be added tells me that it's a genuine vote and I'm not a sheep picking people because the majority did, and also that that I have a broader taste and deeper knowledge of Hip Hop than some here, of course there are some very knowledgeable people here too, not talking about them, but it's also true there are some with a very limited and restricted knowledge that aren't really qualified because they haven't even heard enough Hip Hop albums that year broadly to judge. I don't see why you're so invested over this internet poll lol, like why don't you just pick who think instead of getting emotional over somebody else's choice? Odd. I'm just making my votes and and thinking what good releases there were then going about my business, I don't agree with many of your votes either but it's YOUR vote so entitled to vote who you want, so am I and will continue to do so.

Voted Jay. TBA was better than GRODT. Jay was a much better rapper too.
50 was bigger, but Jay retiring and the concept of the Black album was a big story too.

Vote how you want but the whole point of the thread is to discuss the choices. If that wasn't the case @Inspect Her Deck could ask for the thread to be locked and the only thing we could do is vote.
