I think the limit of an acceptable MVP vote on purely album quality is Raekwon in 2009.
KRS in 2003 is crazy talk tho.

Raekwon made an impact in 2009 though.

I can see it already
Eminem giant of 2002 but Nas wins
50 Cent giant of 2003 and he wins instead of Jay

Dude was a complete non-factor in 2011 culturally. Just coming out the gate on the freshman XXL cover. Section. 80 sold 5,000 copies as an indy digital release. I bet half the Coli didn't hear the project in '11 or even know who he was most people didn't. Yet, he won MVP. It's not like S80 was head and shoulders above the top tier 2011 releases either.
I personally would have went with Drake or given it to Jay or Kanye. Kendrick was literally a rookie building his draw off mixtapes, blogs, magazines, and Drake/Dr. Dre co-signs.
Kendrick winning 2011 was simply the Coli shytting on Drake. He had the best combination of critical acclaim, commercial success, features, influence/impact, and MVP appeal and he took the crown from Wayne when he dropped his album. The Coli doesn't like Watch The Throne much so I'm not surprised Ye nor Jay won.
He sold 68,000 albums first week and debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 though.Even that was stupid, all respect to the Chef but he had no impact at all in 2009, that shyt was for heads..
is it an ideal circumstance? no. but it is what it is
Ross had a better chance in 2010 when he had Raekwon on his albumDrizzy has been robbed at least twice now
I voted for him in 2011, and it shoulda been his for the taking. He honestly shoulda had 2013 too over Push a (5 am in Tornto, everybody and they mama remixed Pound Cake, etc) and once again he had a case for 2009 tho honestly that shoulda went to Ross![]()
@Inspect Her Deck so if Hov comes in second does that mean Lupe gets 5 points this round as well?
This is the Black Album, right?![]()
Im still upset Ross didnt win 2010 since he had the best album. But the song with Rae didn't make the final cutRoss had a better chance in 2010 when he had Raekwon on his album![]()

An album just for heads in 2009 wouldn't have sold a fraction of that.
The next year he was on Kanye's album and Ross' album.

I liked MBDTF but I think its highly overrated. He was doing way too much for no reasonNevermind Ross bragging about having the #1 album of the country before waiting the results
No for real tho, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was a better album than Teflon Don

No shyt its my opinion breh. That's why I stated "I think its highly overrated"That's your opinion.
The accolades, impacted, critically acclaimed reviews, and album sales are all there.
