man I remember the summer of 2008 I was in Jordan (I go see my fam every summer) and I got a big ass family but maybe I know of a handful of people who like hip-hop. Anyway my cousin who didn't even like hip-hop that much went crazy with the Wayne album. He knew the thing word for word after just a month of it coming out.

A Milli was playing in every stereo system. Crazy. That's when I grasped how big that album was. And I hated Wayne at the time because that was my first exposure to him. I prefer C1/2 but then going back to revisit this album I appreciate it for what it is.
Why did you hate Wayne at the time?

Did he release a project that year?

What's a hip hop weekly?
He did release the St. Valentines Day bossacre and Block Obama mixtapes and the Block Obama EP.

both are classics. esp that EP.

I can say Raekwon released the best album of 2009 at the very least, and that's the criteria I've gone off first and foremost personally

Nas didn't achieve this in 2008, so then look at other factors like popularity or whatever and he still didn't top that category either

Number 1 Billboard and Gold album and both the album and mixtape made a lot of best of lists that year including 4.5 mics in the source.

That album wasnt Wayne big but it was a memorable album even without the radio play

The Source around that time....not exactly trustworthy lol. Liquid Swords got 4.5 back in 95.

Anyway yeah after the mixtape and all that I can see Nas as an outsider in the race but not top 2.
