We continue the top 10 countdown with numbers 5-3 today.

----------------------------------------------

5. 2PAC
1996_o0c33i.jpg

Credentials:
MVP: 1995, 1996
2nd: 1993
3rd: 1991

TOTAL WEIGHTED SCORE: 59.4 points

Tupac Shakur only placed on 4 occasions yet it was the value of his placements which sees him soar right into a top 5 overall finish. His MVP annihilation in 1996 over the stiffest competition around in hip-hop saw him achieve the most points for any individual MVP award with 25. He also won the previous year that was assigned a 2.0 multiplier. Pac's 1996 campaign is the stuff of legends, releasing the double disc mega album that was All Eyez on Me and followed it up with another classic The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory in double time. Pac had a ridiculous work ethic that much like Biggie would have us wondering "what if" in terms of the future.

4. ICE CUBE
1990_o0c2z3.jpg

Credentials:
MVP: 1990, 1991, 1992
3rd: 1988, 1993

TOTAL WEIGHTED SCORE: 65.4 points

He went from the nikka You Love to Hate to the
Wrong nikka to fukk Wit to the Predator in back to back to back years, and in each of those years he would win an MVP in a run that has since been unmatched in hip-hop. Cube's prime year stretch saw him rewarded from 1988 as an integral part of NWA to then going solo and releasing albums of the highest quality. His 3 MVP years were all given a 1.8 multiplier and so he racked up weighted points very quickly. The most surprising of the 3 wins was in 1992 where he ousted Redman and showed that he was still the best rapper on the planet.

3. KANYE WEST
2010_o0c3j5.jpg

Credentials:
MVP: 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010
3rd: 2008, 2013

TOTAL WEIGHTED SCORE: 66.6 points

4 MVPs. Speaks volumes for how unprecedented Kanye's achievements are. You can argue that Kanye got lucky with getting those points being a producer-rapper and
with questions about his lyrical ability, but you cannot question the impact he has made in every single year he's released. In the run from The College Dropout to Yeezus, every release was rewarded with a 3rd place at worst and an MVP at best. Truthfully, if Ye actually scored MVP wins in higher weighted years, he could have done some serious damage and legitimately stake a claim to the number 1 spot.
