And its NOT close

I can only guess Brehs weren't old enough to be cognizant at the time

Only a few albums ever impacted Hip Hop like AMW.

What are these dudes listening to off of DOCs debut in 2022?

Whirlwind Pyramid?

Funky Enough is dope but its not fukcing with the best tracks from AMW.

Besides Whirwind Pyramid, the Formula, Funky Enough, and Grand Finale I can't even remember anything else off there. And I would probably only sit down and listen to Grand Finale. Maybe Funky Enough too.

Nah I love the No One Can Do It Better album (Grand Finale is one of the most slept on posse cuts) but Cube's shyt was just a different level and changed music.

Cube album was a major cultural shift and the energy started high from the first track to the end.

But I will give DOC credit for delivering an album that showed he could stand on his own as an NWA affiliate and the album had no cursing on it — just him spitting

Cube's early/mid 90s run is just too damn solid even with him majorly pivoting with the Westside Connection stuff

I know I maybe in the minority which I'm calling it early, but The DOC's album just felt like something special. While Cube's debut was simply amazing, DOC's album had legit lyricism that felt like something from the future.

The shyt was revolutionary for the time.
The closest I can get to describing it saying he was the west coasts Rakim.

Shyt was very special, no gimmicks no frills.

Dude. It was crazy like you got a complete Dre project on some lyrical shyt. No gangsta gimmicks, no party shyt, just a dude on the mic.

In my eye, it was the closest thing to a west coast Illmatic.
