It's great that one of the biggest black female artist is being pro black, pro woman and raising awareness to police brutality and social injustice against black. I never been a fan but if she can reach some young minds cool.
At the same time for me it comes off as disingenuous and opportunistic. 15 years in the industry not a hint of pro blackness, or speaking on race issues, social injustice. Not speaking on the plight of the black women. Wasn't it just "BOW DOWN bytchES" a year ago. It wasn't black girls who run the world it was just "girls". It was blonde weaves and being a great trophy wife with a smile at functions. It's more than 3 years since Trayvon and now you want to hop on this wave?
I swear this board trips me out
i know for a fact there are people on here that have worked VERY, VERY CLOSE TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY - these are some of the most evil, low, money and power hungry people ON THE PLANET. these are not ROLE MODELS. THESE ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE. most of these muthafukkas would sell their momma's, they're kids, and do anything for $$$ and fame, from the artists to the execs.
i dare anyone to tell me i'm lying. I dare somebody to tell me they've met nothing but moral upstanding honest people when dealing w/music industry snakes.
the whole music business is about opportunity, exploitation, marketing, and $$$...but this isn't exactly the most intelligent era we're in either
