The ONLY reason why college tuition is so high is because the government gives up student loans like condoms at a health clinic. States figured out they can simply stop spending as much on higher education as well. So the total costs fall on students.
Just think of how much you have to go through to get approved for a home loan. You can take out student loans with multiple homes with no income, no credit, and no guarantee of turning that education into a income large enough to ever pay it back.
