Uncertain grounds
While I see the overall good for the country in investing in infrastructure I really wonder what tangible benefits from this will people see within the next 12 months to convince them to come out in the midterms?? :patrice:

Itll take 20 years for these a$$holes to fix a 2 mile stretch of road

Most of the construction and trade related contracts are going to white guys who employ illegals while the it stuff will go to Asians

Federal procurement does have set aside goals for minorities, woman small business, veterans ect. But alot of agencies will fail to meet the goals.

Well I dont know where you live but every time I see one of them crews working on highways and bridges, at least half of them or more are black, which is more money in the hands of my ppl.

I love it.

I guess I killed the thread by shutting down the usual militant griping.

This is actually important and a much cleaner pot of $ than the PPP stuff all the scammers went after.

so… let me add some tips as someone who has won one of these contracts before..

1) all you have to do is be on the game. Start a business and get setup as a minority business enterprise. Register with as many entities as possible that can vouch for you; State, county, city, etc.

2) monitor findrfp.com and any other online marketplaces in your state. In Maryland we have emarketplace. They will start posting contracts that’s are out for bid. That’s where a large chuck of this infrastructure money will end up.

3) start networking. contact the people who are marketing the contracts and let them know you are a minority vendor looking to team with a larger contractor. Contact the people who you’re competing with for work. You’d be amazed at how much stronger your bid is as a group. And 50% of 100 is better than 100% of 0.

that’s all you really need to do to get started. If you’re in the contractor pool the work will find you. Setup a company that does logistics, or something very broad. Then you can swoop in and win government contracts. The government will hire anyone to o do anything. Experience and connections are less important than being present and having your paperwork correct.

Thank you for beating fools who don't want to do the research to the punch.

The botha I know who owns a construction business and a trucking business about to eat!!! Dude been waiting for months for this bill to pass.

Biden was talking all that hot shyt about how the Trump tax cuts were bad but he agreed to let them stay in place for support for his infrastructure bill. Biden has been reneging on a lot of shyt...good thing I didnt vote for him.

Biden offers to keep 2017 Trump tax cuts intact in infrastructure counteroffer to GOP

Your post is missing some points..

The bi-partisan deal means Biden needed 10 Republicans for the bill to pass the Senate and go to the House. The Republicans made it clear that they were not going to vote for the bill if the bill meant reversing any type of Trump tax cuts. Biden took that off the table to get the 60 vote mark. Actually got 69 votes today. 19 Republicans which is pretty impressive.

Part 2 of the infrastructure package is a partisan/Democrat only bill that will have to be passed via budget reconciliation with all 50 Democrats plus VP Harris as the tiebreaking vote. As of now its suppose to be 3.5 trillion, but considering how the two Senate moderate Dems have been acting (Manchin & Sinema) that number may drop.

In that bill Biden and Dems have talked about raising the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28% as one of the ways to help pay for it. The Trump tax cuts had cut the tax rate from 35% to 21%. And they've talked about raising taxes on the wealthy.
