Biden himself helped make the student loan situation what it is today with his decision making or lack there of, so that's why the onice is on him to help rectify the situation. Look up Biden's with the student loan situation if you don't believe me.

Nobody doesn't want to hear what Biden can and can't do when he helped cause the problem in the first place.

Biden was involved in the student loan crisis in the same way Alexandria Ocassio Cortez was involved in the Covid stimulus bill. She’s not running sh*t right now. So why do you think Biden was running anything in his younger years? Biden was one Senator of many and he didn’t have any near the amount of influence back in the 70s, 80s and 90s that you’re trying to imply he did. Hindsight is always 20/20. Nobody in 1980 knew college tuition was going to shoot up 1,000%.

  • In 1990, it was easier to discharge student loan debt in bankruptcy. But Biden was the chief sponsor of the Crime Control Act, which lengthened the waiting period before a student loan borrower could file for bankruptcy.
  • In 1997, a federal panel appointed by President Clinton recommended reversing some of the newer bankruptcy restrictions for student loans, but Biden did not sign on to this recommendation.
  • In 1998, Biden supported a change in the bankruptcy code that created an “undue hardship” standard for federal student loans, making it significantly more difficult for borrowers to discharge their federal student loans in bankruptcy. Biden continued to oppose efforts to loosen bankruptcy restrictions on student loans through 2001.
  • In 2005, Biden supported a change in the bankruptcy code that made it much more difficult to discharge private student loan debt in bankruptcy by also applying the “undue hardship” standard. Prior to then, private student loans were not treated much differently than other forms of consumer debt in bankruptcy. Following this change, private student loans started rapidly expanding across college campuses.
Come up with a better defense of Biden breh :comeon:

For the record, Biden was a Senator which has more power and sway the the role that AOC holds. Don't forget Biden was on that stage with all those other white men when it came to the Clarence ThomasAnita Hill situation. He's had power and sway for a long while and something that AOC won't come lose to anytime soon.

Bruh, you doing a whole lot of googling but not using common sense. So Imma try one more time. Who are the Senators and Representatives in your state? Do you even know the Senators and Representatives in your state? How old are they? How long have they been in politics or in office? For the people just starting out in office in your state, do you think they’re controlling anything right now politically or do you think the more senior people in Washington in both parties are controlling things? Well guess what, it was the same way back in 1970, 1980 and 1990. There were power players in DC that were running our country and making these decisions who are now long dead or long retired but back then they were running sh*t. Not no fukking Joe Biden who would’ve been a 30 to 40 year old senator from a flyover state. Stop being an ignoramus. If your logic held up, then you’re saying junior Senators today in 2021 are influencing policy when we know that’s bullsh*t as they’re following orders from the top of the party.

I can tell that you didn't even read what I posted as you would have noticed that he ruled against student loans in 2005. Years into his tenure in Congress, which means that he would have tenure and power over other members in Congress :mjlol:

People love talking about policies DECADES after the fact. In 2005, there was no “student loan crisis”. Saying someone voted against student loans being discharged in bankruptcy in 2005 doesn’t have the same ring as doing in 2021. Opinions change. Variables change. The political zeitgeist changes. Just like the Crime Bill nonsense. Everyone was with it in 1993. Black people included. Now in 2021, suddenly everyone who voted for it was a horrible person. I guarantee in 2040 or 2050 there will be some snot nose Generation V faggit on Twitter talking about how the Covid-19 stimulus was a horrible policy or how Obamacare was horrible policy.
