at nikkas talking about they don't get it. Sean Don got one with this. Y'all the same nikkas bigging up Born Sinner like Cole ain't making the same music like he's always done. The critics are praising the album because Sean actually stepped out of his comfort zone and created a complete well rounded album. Again y'all nikkas are skimming through the album. This is his College Dropout

I've listened to this shyt like 4 or 5 times, and it's just mediocre lyrically. I know he said he wasn't going to be lyrical on the album, but he should have been. The shyt is so tame that I just don't understand why people think it's touching Born Sinner or The Gifted. Sean has bars, but he didn't use them on Hall of Fame. Hell, listen to his verse on Control, and then ask yourself why he didn't bring that for the entire album? He's not good enough to just be lazy on songs.

Also, the "heartfelt" songs just don't sound convincing at all. It's like the nikka was trying to be deep, but he can't even translate that vocally because he's constantly on that "too cool" swag type style when he raps. There's a lack of emotion in the album as a whole. It's a listenable album, but if anybody is calling it "great" then the standard for hiphop is just terrible.

i mean what records on here was he supposed to be spitting like control on? most of them are personal records where he telling a story thats trying to hit a cord to inspire his fans (NIST, fire) or somethin they might relate to (beware, ashley, world ablaze)

and then the other ones are obvious bangers/party tracks.

and i dont think he came off as trying to be too deep on them really, on "all figured out" yea probably tho at the end

I got thru 7 pages of this thread, and almost the whole album, and I must've gotten a different album than some of y'all, cause shyt is...exactly that: shyt. To be fair, I've never been the biggest Sean fan. I just don't get it. He's just not all that good at rapping. I've seen Cole and Wale brought up plenty, but to be honest, that's disrespectful to both of them to be included in the conversation.

Born Sinner and Gifted are both waaaaaaaayyy better than this shyt. I know that Nigerian dude is most likely part of his street team, so he HAS to act like he does, but I don't understand the rest of y'all in here praising this. I actually seen the words "Big Sean" and "Soulful" in the same sentence. Just when I thought I'd seen/heard it all, something like that gets posted, and raises the bar of stupidity that much higher. I feel like this is one big inside joke that I'm not part of. I really don't get it.

Disrespectful I swear y'all already got it made up in y'all minds that Sean can't make a better album than Cole and Wale. It's impossible for y'all to fathom. Sean just did tho. Y'all can keep on arguing about it but it won't change a damn thing Sean did what Cole and Wale couldn't do which was make a complete album.

With that being said, there's a few joints I mess with on this album... though it's not touching Born Sinner or Gifted, musically or sales wise. Shiiit, I enjoyed Finally Famous the album more than this I think.

Nothing is stopping you sounded exactly like a Graduation song but in a good way, everything else is whack though.

No need to misquote me to try to make a point...I never said I wanted it back, it's just a more enjoyable album imo... I can do without Big Sean forever, and I'd be okay with that


I guess Sean just does a better job making pop records than deep, introspective personal records...
