coles only good songs were based off older ones, he didnt do them justice. he continues his slow but steady lyrical regression, and he says just as much dumb/corny shyt as sean. Plus at this time he is a much more mediocre drake, lyrically and vocallyCan you just be objective, fam? This shyt is NOT touching Cole or Wale's, I'd argue even Mac dropped a better album than Sean this year
wales album was as average as it gets, i personally dont like him much that might affect my opinion
mac's album was fresh as hell, the production was pretty original, mac explored some interesting topics, it is mac so he wasnt horribly lyrical or good but he has shown the most improvement out of the three. Plus his album was just different, unlike the gifted and born sinner which both followed a pretty traditional hip hop album format. Mac's album imo might be seen as a milestone in the indie rap genre guys like chance are pioneering
seans album production wise dwarfs the gifted and born sinner, maybe even mac's album. Conceptually id say it was up there with the gifted/born sinner, not quite with mac's album his was very genuine and executed very well. This is the category where all the albums shine, they all were very good conceptually. In terms of being a interesting emcee, big sean falls way behind all of these dudes, so much so that i think hall of fame is the worst just because sean is a pretty weak rapper. But tbh id rather play through some hall of fame songs compared to born sinner/the gifted, although theyre both better.
