we gon pretend that Ye didnt say HISSELF that Wayne's autone use back in 08 didnt influence 808's & Heartbreaks?

I'm asking what his influence is and no one is saying anything. List his major influences

he hasnt influenced anything, he just constantly outsells the whole genre without making an impact...

:rudy:

nikka are you retarded? Did I say he has no influence? I asked what his major points of influence was. Who/What has he influenced directly. Answer the question or step the fukk off.

No rappers were doing autotune before Wayne.
Style of dress, excessive tats.
His rhyme style.

1. If anyone is going to be given credit for making autotune popular I think it has to be T-Pain. I'm not going to argue that point tho.
2. If anything Wayne dikk eats on whatever style is popular. When it was baggy clothes he was in baggy clothes. When it was throwbacks he wore throwbacks. When it was white tees he wore white tees. Hipster/skate style? You guessed it, all of a sudden he is doing that too. He never ushered in the movement, he latched onto it. I guess so for the tats.
3. I'll give you that.

:laff::laff::laff:

but anyways....

-started auto-tune in hip-hop, brought that shyt to the forfront..nikkas like Kanye ran with it, while nikkas like Future based their whole career around it, Jay tried to kill it, but it ultimately backfired on him

-signed and developed 2 superstars, Ye has Big Sean and Cudi who are B-list at best

-founder of the most popular label in hiphop

-the most featured artist in music of ALL TIME, think about that for a second

-brought a more punchline oriented rapping into hiphop....even Big Sean said he was inspired by his earlier work

-like someone mentioned, the excessive tats

I argue the clothes/style thing with my brother all time.. he made a good point when he said Wayne is never the first to do anything fashion wise but when HE does it the shyt explodes (skinny jeans, the jim jones look).

And believe this or not, alot of these lil fake bloods in the south in these lil country towns like West Chattahoocie,Tn didn't start bangin until Wayne started flauntin his affiliation.

T-Pain revived excessive autotune and influenced rappers (even Wayne himself) to do it.

And what rhyme style? Hashtag Rap? Big Sean revived it first (Edit: Somebody already got to this). The weird "I Feel Like I'm Dying" stream of consciousness style? Many, many rappers were doing that in various forms before him.

I'll give you the tattoo thing, as well as the fact that he helped crystallize and codify the current mixtape format through the Dedication series and Da Drought 3 (I'm SHOCKED that no one has brought this up in Wayne's favor, it's his one truly lasting contrubution to 2000s-2010s Hip-Hop culture).
