Was cam asymptotic or did he actually get sick?
That doesn't counter the pointPast 19 years Pats went to 9 SBs and won 6 of them, been division champs 17 times including 11 straight
Teams Beli put together. And he isn't a good GM?![]()

That doesn't counter the point
Him winning super bowls doesn't mean he's a great GM
Pats fans will tell you that Belichick's drafting is NOT his strong suit. I'm also trying to argue that his free agent signings are also low risk gambles (since he is getting players whose value dropped, like Cam Newton and hoping they work out).
He can still be a good situational football coach, good at gameplanning, good at preparation, discipline, etc.

Breh the team he put together won SBs and was a contender for 19 straight years. What other measure do you need to judge GMs other than the success of the teams they put together?
What other GM has put together teams the past 19 years that measure up to what Beli has done?![]()
They keep talking about drafting as if that's the only part of being a GM. I'll try and give a more detailed response later, but his drafting is not as poor as many make it seem.
He is contending for Super Bowls EVERY year. The Raves, Steelers, and Seahawks since 2000 have NOT been competing every year.

Tuna has Beli, Coughlin and Sean Payton on his coaching tree. That's nine SBs between them.
That's where the Brady effect comes in. The Ravens had Trent Difler, Kyle Boller, Joe Flacco, etc. If the Steelers had Tom Brady for 20 years and let him throw to Heinz Ward, Mike Wallace, Antwan Randle-El, while handing it off to Jerome Bettis, you don't think they'd eventually get 6?
My point is saying super bowls is too simplistic because it leaves out the fact that Tom Brady was a buffer for a lot that.
I will no longer say that he is a bad GM. I will admit that that is an exaggeration. But you can still win super bowls without being that good GM, and that's because he hit on Brady. Is that not a fair assessment?
Hindsight 20/20 on half those receivers you namedBelichick? Goat GM?
DK Metcalfe
Hollywood Brown
Diontae Johnson
Deebo Samuel
AJ Brown

These are all receivers Belichick could have gotten the last couple of years. Who did he get? N'Keal Harry.
Who the fukk did he draft this year that is getting playing time? Dalton Keane? John Uche? The 5th round kicker that he wasted a pick on?
Getting Sony Michel over Nick Chubb?
Plus, all those all drafts that failed to produce receivers and running backs.
He got Gronk and Hernandez, that's good. But that doesn't make him the GOAT GM.
One of Belichick's strengths was supposed to be his "system" that could put anyone in and succeed. Yet Cam, Stidham (who he drafted), etc. and the offense and their vaunted secondary are suspect right now.
As Pats fan, I've checked out on Bill since 2010/2011, and this year is exposing it.
TB put himself in the perfect situation at his age.
