Early days before people knew it was from the Corona family of viruses, people referred to it as Chinese virus..because that is all they had to go by. Yes, Trump politicised it.

And how is it not a Chinese virus.
African Swine Flu, Zika, Ebola, Lyme, MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome)and Parkinsons etc all have names of where they were found and by whom.
