How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Did he really stop doing his Podcast (Bill dont lie or whatever it's called) ? It was actually pretty good

I may be in the minority, but I find Jalen annoying at times

Everybody does, because sometimes he is fukking annoying, but he is entertaining and keeps it a trillion more than he is annoying.

"more likely is Simmons, whom the network is said to have made a big play for after his unceremonious booting from the more corporate ESPN. Such a move would be straight out of the HBO playbook, which famously provided a creative reprieve for former ABC flameout Bill Maher many years earlier. Though Simmons is said to have several suitors, insiders say conversations at HBO have focused on a TV show — something Simmons is believed to want — along with heavy digital extensions that make the prolific personality tailor-made for the HBO Now era."

Good find. I'd watch it if he had a show and was able to produce some documentaries or other stories on sports.

HBO makes sense. Occasional TV show and the chance to work on documentaries. The podcast better survive though, that's what Simmons is best at.

Hope to god they don't make him cover boxing though :scusthov:

HBO deal is confirmed.

Bill Simmons Lands Mega Deal at HBO
At the premium cable network, Simmons will launch his own talk show in 2016. The weekly show, which will air on HBO's linear service as well as HBO Go and HBO Now, will be both topical and spontaneous, with stories and guests across the sports and cultural landscape.

As part of the multi-year, multi-platform pact, which begins in October, Simmons will also have a production deal to produce content for the network and its digital platforms, delivering video, podcasts and features as he did at ESPN. Additionally, the long-time sports personality will consult for HBO Sports, working closely with HBO Sports president Ken Hershman on non-boxing-related programming, including the development of shows and documentary films for the network.

I feel he would of been more effective going to Turner/Bleacher Report.

This is like Conan going to TBS, NOT saying HBO is on the same level as TBS as a network becasue we know HBO is as big as it gets when it comes to Premium TV.

It's similar to the fact that they basiaclly left thier lane with Conan leaving Broadcast TV and Bill leaving the Sports network/blog website lane.

It makes it easier for people from your old lane to discount you and make you out to be just a Niche guy.

I guess I just wanted him to go to a direct competitor and shyt on ESPN, because although Simmons can be annoying ESPN is even more annoying and Simmons has the fanbase to make one of ESPN's rivals become a bit more of a threat, especially as an online presence.
