:comeon:u don't remember the other thread you kept saying this and had posters on here from across the county explaining the impact of 3 6 to you and what they meant to the culture and how popping and influential they were...
I’ve definitely never questioned how influential they were. I’ve had many debates on this subject and I’ve never seen an effective rebuttal to 36 calling themselves unknowns in real time. Or a strong case that they were A level before 2005.

10 Roots
9 De La Soul
8 Salt N Pepa
7 Eric B & Rakim
6 Public Enemy
5 Run DMC
4 A Tribe Called Quest
3 NWA
2 Wu Tang
1 OutKast

predictable, roots aint top 10 to me, not sure i count eric b & rakim as a group, and i'm still like wtf @ no dogg pound, salt n pepa is GOATed, but they pandering with them as a top 10 group, bone not being top 10 is still also absurd

Eric B and Rakim are not a group because Eric wasn't making the beats :mjlol:

I'm hesitant to call producer/MC acts a group as I think of a group as 2 or more rappers. Are we calling Nas and Hit Boy a group now?

These lists always pander to female acts and overrate them.

Beastie Boys are way too high:mjpls:

EPMD way too low. They should be top 10 easy off their albums alone plus for bringing Redman, Murray, and K Solo into the game.

Remove S&P, Eric B, and replace them with EPMD and Mobb Deep.

I would have Wu Tang over OutKast. The degree of difficulty of having 9 members all with different styles, one producer doing the bulk of the work, and the members dropping classic solo albums trumps Outkast's albums. I love Outkast's music but it's not even close to me.

Neck ties and boxing gloves.
Why are they counting duos? I never considered Outkast and Mobb Deep groups
I agree but I can overlook that.

In pairs where it's just one rapper and a producer not so much.

And yes, I do remember a time the DJ was more important than the rapper but that ended probably right after Paid in Full came out.

You would be surprised how many elite rappers and producers from the nineties the Beastie Boys had an affect on.

Fam I don't know anyone who was listening to the Beasties and I'm from that era. Every time EPMD put an album out it was the hottest thing in the streets. I respect the BB's but they weren't a part of the culture like that.
