I think the Buffalo Bills made a mistake.

Some other coach will come in here and benefit from the groundwork that Rex has layed down - particularly on the defensive side of the ball. The talent is there. It's just hard to get results in 2 years when players can't stay on the field.

A lot of coaches could have gotten fired.
Rex deserved another year.

he has been there long enough and has had enough talent to make something happen for the last 4-5 years, how many chances should he get?

Sammy was arguably a top 5 receiver last season, they were top 5-10 in pretty much every defensive category, and shady is still very productive and effective in that offense, they have some good playmakers on that defense also......nobody else would get any passes so why should he?

Two years he went 5-6 in the division and was competitive.

Tyrod has been hurt
Watkins has been hurt
Shady was hurt last year
Karlos Williams ate himself off the team
Shaq Lawson was hurt
Reggie Ragland was hurt
They have no other receivers to speak of.

And a lot more.
And in spite of all that the Bills were an overtime score away from being 8-7...probably 9-7 after they will likely beat the Jets this Sunday.

So yeah. I think Rex deserved one more year.

Rex is built for college. He should holla at Uconn real quick. Get his feet wet in college and then bounce to a bigger school if he can turn them around. Uconn would love it cause then people would actually know that they have a football team. Or he can go to being some DC in the league but at this point why would he?

He made this bed for himself by guaranteeing playoffs and not making it either time.

I'll chalk that up to the guy trying to instill confidence to his players.

So he aimed a little high. What's wrong with that?
He was one or two wins away from delivering.

His confidence installing didn't have the desired effect.
Also, he played himself against Miami by not going for it on 4th in OT, knowing or not knowing a tie eliminates his team from playoff contention.

Why would he coach in every conference outside of the big10 or SEC?

UCONN? That's beyond a step down for an NFL coach.
