Like it was said many times on here before, how is an independent movie which already made double the cost of the movie considered a flop?
this...and not to mention many people saw it and said the historical inaccuracies made it not that good of a film...I'm gonna see it myself...but Nate didn't help himself with his promo of the film at all.

a few days ago i thought this movie was a must watch i was absolutely going to support until it was reviled to for me on the message board discussions and an angry sister on youtube that it's a typical Amerikkkan slavery movie with blacks being beat into submission,maimed and killed by caves savages for 2 hours and the rebellion scenes were too short,weak and only showed like a couple slave owners getting slayed

Completely disregard Blockbuster movies like Titanic that weren't historically accurate at all but yet, none of us said anything cause it was a white movie

It was a great film, the movie was sabotaged from day one. Whoever does the Haitian Revolution (especially without a white savior) is going to get it probably worse than Nate Parker did.

Years from now we are going to be upset when a Hollywood production company does not want to greenlight any black films that portray us as strong.
Unlike CACs, when we do something it reflects on our whole race. If Obama fails, there will never be a black president again. If a company hires a black CEO and they do poorly, that company will never hire a black CEO again.
When one of us fail on a major stage, we all fail because it affects all of us.
So don't be surprised when Hollywood only wants to deal with Madea movies and movies of us that have a white leading character as a savior. We tried and fail. We don't continue to get opportunities like this.
