The scene is objectively bad no one here disagrees, read more of the responses, it's less about poor writing and more about this idea that the writers are intentionally trying to advance an agenda that is harmful to Black men specifically.

And the person who wrote that exact entire scene is a so called black queer person...:beli: agenda outta control so blatant

Man he broke that down well. The thing is most black men ain't even trying to be in the barber shop that long. We trying to get in and out, why the hell they think black barbers do appointments so much. Most ain't spending but 30 minutes in your hair tops. This ain't the black beauty salon where they braiding or relaxing or washing or blowing out or sewing in weaves. Where they got hours to talk. Man them dudes and women clients trying to get in and out.

And how can the barber shop be a straight black man haven when there are kids, women and gay people there. Thats like saying the black strip club is a straight black man haven....yet sometimes it be as many women and bull dagger customers in that place trying to kick it as straight black men...:mjlol:

Who are you talking to? Cuz I haven't listened to hip hop in years, and I've said it on here.

Since I turned off the music cuz of its monetized black trauma and dysfunction, have I passed the test to be able to call this whole scene amateurish and ill conceived?

Just a caricature of black misogyny, male weakness and homophobia.

They either don't give our best the chances to create or our best is basura.
I saw this promo'd on Amazon n wanted to support but I'm not gonna support poorly characterized trash.

If they want Insecure remixed on Amazon, this isn't it. Especially since they missed the point of the casting.

If a person can see the agenda in one form of entertainment and not the agenda in another form of entertainment. That person is not based in reality..

Fair enough then. But like you even said, you make sure that not everyone hears it. There's at least SOME decorum, ya know?

Thats it. I mean employees curse at work. But what they do is look around to make sure it is no one who isn't suppose to hear the conversation.

Everyone one does this. Yet the silly show just makes it seem that barbers use this type of language around female customers and that ain't true.

Heffa straight Cap. My sister in law been rocking a low cut for years in Mississippi and now in DFW and changed barbers a few times due to moving around. She never had that issue and same for my brother's girlfriend who been rocking a short cut for years.

These internet folks lie for retweets and likes. They want attention and make up shyt.

And I know other sisters with similar hair styles that haven't had this issue. If jokers would say yeah it happened once. But I am suppose to believe 6 times in one year...please straight up high capping.

Is that not what they do?

Not at all. In the beauty shop, most of it is talk about husbands and kids, and careers, and celeb gossip. Around our girls is a different story. But we don't talk like that in front of strangers like men tend to do.

It’s well known that it’s most of y’all’s conversations.

And what shows?

...you're not serious. For starters, isn't there some long ass thread about black women's favorite TV show, Insecure? (A show I despise, for the record.)

Honestly you are.

Okay. You caught me.

Atlanta had more of an accurate account of a black barbershop than anything you and these queer people have

How many gay black men and/women were in that scene you posted? I know it is your desire to push the voices of women and queer people out of this discussion. But the bottom line is until you can talk to me about your discussion as a gay black man and a black barber shop, your thoughts on this matter are worthless to me.

Was just watching this episode with my wife. Barbershops have a code to chill with the lewd shyt when women and kids are around. The fact that it was a barber talking like that was even more ridiculous.
