The suburbs of today are the makings of tomorrow's shantytowns. And "tomorrow" is much closer than most of us are willing to admit.

We don't need cities to be 50% black to be great cities for black people and families. The United States is 12.3% black. I think we can analyze the viability of being black in any city over that threshold, and major cities below that. LA is only 8.7% black, but there is a community of 350,000 blacks in the city and almost 1.2 million blacks in the Greater LA metropolis. So LA has a lower than typical black average, but the actual population of blacks is so large, and the black community so established, it deserves discussion...

I live in Virginia Beach. This is a good place to live overall and generally speaking, but if you ask me specifically for blacks? Nah, I can think of a bunch of cities I think are better for us than VB/Norfolk...

This is what I always preach on these forums.

As long as we have a community we good. Don’t need to be tied in specific cities exclusively.

Desoto and Cedar Hill sucks ass culturally. I hope they invest money into small businesses down there.

Cedar Hill just became a majority Black city in past 10 years tho.

only thing is the latter is at least willing to be excited about and embrace, while the former is just going to sulk because their "theories" turn out to not always be closer to reality than they'd like

We all out here in Illinois and Indiana. My brother actually lives in Iowa, moved there with some white girl. Ain't no woman convincing my to move to some boring ass state
