No. I said if the parents came out and said they support this as the cause. In fact the family by doing this are also skeptical of the states claim.
The problem with this is, the family might not ever publically come out and confirm that as the cause for obvious reasons. Just like cats on here won't ever admit to the tragic reality that young brehs do hang themselves. One of the main reasons why the family is skeptical is because they're having a hard time processing that he could do this to himself, again, this is part of the problem that leads to this stigma in the first place.

If they get back the independent autopsy there's the potential they just keep it to themselves if only because of optics. They don't want their family to be the face of this out of fear it'll sully them.

You don't wanna be part of the change on here to get posters taking this seriously?

So what is it im hearing about the media reporting two black men getting lynched when the other one was a white dude who hung himself?
Not aware of any traditional media outlets reporting that but a lot of people drew that conclusion based off the headlines of 2 men found hung in MS, and then ppl repeat that conclusion and others parrot it and then it becomes accepted as fact because so many people are saying it.

I'm not at all against having the convo you want to have but why not just make a thread about it? You're not a dumb guy you can understand why people are skeptical no? You dont find some of the same things that were questioning suspicious in any way?

Well, that is an option I entertained earlier in this thread, but I think the most essential play here is changing the thread title (especially one that is stickied) to reflect the official report. It's something that everyone has already seen over the last couple of days and will continue to see as long as it's stickied. Any thread created to talk about said issue could easily be missed and pushed past the front page in no time, at all.

But yes, I'l think about making a thread about it.

This is a post I made earlier in the thread -

"There’s nothing wrong with being skeptical over the initial examination of the body, especially given the context and circumstances; it’s only instinctual to be wary given the historical weight of something of this nature. But you have to broach this with some level of sensitivity and be careful that you don’t perpetuate the stigma around mental illness. It’s not beneficial to anyone to run up in here with the attitude that young brehs don’t commit suicide. They do, and the number over recent years is growing at an alarming rate."
You dont find some of the same things that were questioning suspicious in any way?
Suspicious in what sense?

I find it more suspicious that posters wanna turn this into a dapathon instead of having a serious discussion addressing one of the fastest-growing causes of death of young Black people in this country.

The fact that nobody has come into this thread since the official report and acknowledged that they've changed their position is troubling. A thread title change might just help that. Or it might not. I don't have any faith that TheColi is ready for that discussion.

I truly believe you would get better results in a new thread, and people who might be staying out of this thread who would want to engage in that discussion will join in. Just keep the thread active so it stays visible, and honestly one of the @fakkitassmods would at least give you a 7 day starter sticky

I dont disagree with any of what you wrote
Suspicious in what sense?
Being told the death occured in one place and then another

some reports were saying tree others lightpole

Family not being allowed to verify themselves there were no broken limbs, bruises, lacerations etc

Students, staff, residents etc that spoke to media almost all asked to be anonymous and the reasonings were as follows

Fear of retaliation
Applying for job at the school
Entering the workforce upon graduation
Fear of losing job
And a bunch of other concerns that seem pretty weird considering most people simply said it was a sad tragedy. Why would you fear the repercussions that could follow from saying it's sad that someone died?

Just start a new thread breh, you said yourself if the family never concedes this was a suicide then the tide ain't changing in this thread

This the we questioning the official statement from the authorities atm thread @ me when you start the "young breh committed suicide it's time to talk about mental health" thread, I'll engage

It is of no surprise that @Gil Scott-Heroin has taken his c00ning on the road to multiple different forums after being ran out of The Coliseum.

We don’t know what happened, but to call out actual black posters of being suspicious of a hanging death in the middle of Mississippi, is despicable. Even for him.
Now that we have confirmation this young breh tragically took his own life, how typical of you Gary Owen to not be cracking jokes over a sensitive topic anymore once you found yourself on the wrong side of history again.

You never let an opportunity go by without embarrassing yourself, you demon.

YOU CAN'T TAKE THEM DAPS WITH YOU.

Colin Kaepernick is a real one.
Never forget how they treated him… when the NFL let Kap go, everyone cheered because he was “too political” and “disrespected the flag”.

Yet and still these SAME people rushed to defend Gina Carano after she was let go by Disney for all that MAGA talk she was spouting on Twitter.

“B-b-bu-but it’s just an OPINION :damn:

These people didn’t care when Kaepernick was dropped for his opinions.

…I wonder why?:mjpls:
