Never been to ATL... But DC is nice! I love the diversity. You'll have NY nikkas, Maryland, VA, SC, Africans, Jamaicans/Caribbeans.... I think I'd live in a place like that.

I liked west coast when I first moved there but I might go back home, too homesick! :(

ATL's COL is better, but I gotta go with DC for the fact that's there is less of the whole "black hollywood" superficial shyt than in ATL. I also like that there's still high levels of integration in DC (there is also more diversity) while also having black enclaves. In ATL, your world is either black or white, in DC you can hang at an upscale all black place on Thursday, then turn around an kick it in a mixed establishment with a crew of multiple nationalities/races on Friday.

:myman: you dead right about the bolded part. Coming from NYC i miss bouncing around from russian jewish cats on coney island ave, to haggling with the west africans uptown (all in the same day). NYC is almost like a RPG that way.

Where did I say "all"? Stop inciting things that weren't stated. You're The post I quoted referred to the ongoing gentrification in in Washington and I stated that the same was happening in Atlanta (compared to the past).

:why: You clearly meant "all" of East Atlanta though even if you didn't mean all of Atlanta. A very big portion of East Atlanta is NOT gentrified at all and probably will never be gentrified if it hasn't been done yet. The portion of East Atlanta that is gentrified is the same portion that was gentrified 5 years ago, so your point is still moot. Nothing has changed.

Gentrification happens in EVERY major city, we know that. So you're just saying the obvious. You just need not to speak on areas you know nothing about because the neighborhood you mentioned is still the same as it was +5/+10 years ago and will probably never change.

The same can be said about Atlanta dawg:heh:, take a jog out in east atlanta.

Exactly.

At him thinking moving to Texas will be any better. In Texas blacks have to worry about hatred and racism from whites and hispanics who are the majority over blacks in the State. Black people in Texas have no power.

co-sign.

Blacks in Texas are losing their political power every year. Mexicans are taking city council and school board seat away from blacks in Dallas and Houston. Since they now have a bigger population in Texas.

Blacks in Texas are looking :flabbynsick:

The real question that you nikkaz ain't asking, how are the non-buppie working class or lower black folks living? I love DC but I think I'd rather be a hoodrat living in a 1700 sq ft house in the hood going skating and enjoying the weather in ATL than paying $1000 a month to live in Barry Farms SE, and risk getting shot at the gogo for entertainment every weekend :guilty:

Who lives in barry farms ?/
nikka commute from va and md to dc bruh

Isn't DC heavy in that Jack and Jill bullshyt where middle class and up black people go out of their way to distance themselves from black people in the hood?

Fault me for not wanting to live in the hood :yeshrug:

Fair, but you could also have a cheap home in Clinton or Bowie rather then the part of ATL T.I comes from.

Cheap and bowie dont go together bruh . Do you even live out here :mjpls:

Yeah pretty much...or how about paying $1000 a month just to live in 650 sq ft in Suitland or Temple Hills. Gimme ATL anyday....

If you're paying a 1000 for suitland you lost smh. You could live in a decent 1 bedroom in laurel for that much or maybe even largo.

ATL don't have jobs stop faking .

My ex moved down here after grad school because she couldnt find a job in atl.

She loved the scene in atl but there weren't enough jobs.

Everyone knows you can move to the dmv and make it.
