I'm to emotional to be a feminist. The ideologies sound good in theory, but it seems most times at the detriment of all blacks as a collective. Anyway this article is new to me but I'm not surprised, a certain group has been trying to separate the black family for as long as we have been here unfortunately some of us have been blinded and fell for the okey doke (and I don't mean black feminism specifically). I've been doing some reading and it seems it didn't start the way it seems to be portrayed now. I still have a lot of reading to do in that aspect tho.

It would be nice if black women and men had our own organization for us by us that deals with all of our issues. Where black woman or black men didn't feel left out of the equation. I might have some "feminist" views when it comes to things like equal pay, but I'm pro black family above all else.

If I ever meet you. I'm gonna hug you, then flex my pecs

Damn I'm weird

I am dead at you taking that from her post. She literally said NOTHING of the sort. :russ:

But basically your post encapsulates why coli men (or other Black male misogynists) are to never be taken seriously on the subject of Black feminism. Not to be rude in saying it that way, but I can't think of any other way to put it. You guys don't actually know (or care) about anything that Black women go through that you can't relate to or doesn't revolve around you as a Black man, let alone know about the movement created to address those issues. So instead, you create straw man after straw man about what it is, and have your friends who also don't know or care, back you up.

Truth be told, the reason so many of you knee jerkingly hate Black feminism is because you don't see Black women as equal to you nor do you want us to see ourselves that way. You fear that if Black women believe they aren't merely here to be secondary to you as men who make all the decisions and rules, you will lose the little power you've been allowed to have over Black women (and only Black women) in this white supremacist patriarchy created by white men. That's what you all hate about Black feminism, the part that says you'll have to compete with other men in order to feel powerful, because Black women won't allow you to feel that power by subjugating us. It has nothing to do with preserving the Black family because most of you preach against commitment, marriage, and even taking care of children you create. And it definitely has nothing to do with dismantling the white power structure, because hating Black women's fight for equality and respect of our unique issues does absolutely zero to combat white supremacy and a lot to bolster it.

There's your reply @PoPo

Well yall continue to want to compete against your men (as if any race of man on this planet wants to compete with his women) and see how well that turns out for you. Continue to be manipulated by white women who encourage separation from your men, then run to their men for assistance when that single mother life doesn't work out as planned.

But of course most feminist are either unattractive, oddly shaped, outright lesbians, or in some other way dysfunctional and are resigned to a life of solitude/cohabitation, so I can reason its appeal to your predicament. It's like the obese hater friend who's always tryna cockblock or break up her friends' relationships. I call it the Wanda 'I'm redtago' Syndrome. Women who actually have options tend to reject the ruse. But I'll let you cook... oops, my bad.

I'm a black feminist because I don't want to be called a bytch or a ho.

I'm a black feminist because I want black men to prioritise (to the exclusion of any other woman) black women

I'm a black feminist because I want black men to build real families with black women

Who's calling you a bytch or a hoe, unless you're a bytch or a hoe?

:yeshrug:I mean, I don't see brothas calling Michelle Obama and Oprah bytches and hoes.

A lot of y'all love to play the part of "bytch and hoe" and then get mad when y'all get called on that shyt.

:whoo: I don't know whether this is 100% truth or what, but I do think this is an important post right here. This perspective deserves some respect.

I will say this though, that we as Black people can't separate our struggle.

I think we always struggled as a unit until things like the mass incarceration and drugs separated us.

That's the type of shyt we should focus on, if we want to solve both of our problems, but this Black man vs. Black woman shyt is just totally unproductive.

The Color Purple is one of those 'hate the black man' movies mentioned in the article where the evil negro is a rapist who ends up getting dominated by the strong black woman. Same for the movie Precious.
Just ask black feminist what has black feminism done for black people socially, economically, politically, and infrastructure wise you will hear crickets. Although it is not all MOST black feminist hate black men or have no respect for them. They look at black men as incompetent children.

:manny:They should just silently marry white and keep lt moving...
