Some do some don't just like everything else in life.
That's another the crux of this ordeal, and why it's so baffling to me anyone of sound logic can sign off on this.
We all know what assault is. We all know what rape is. There's a set definition.
There is no question as to if one has been physically assaulted. There is no question when one is driving intoxicated.
With this? There's no unanimous agreement.
It's women who hears these catcalls, chalk it up to it being simply thirsty nikkas that they have no interest in, and keeps it moving.
It strokes the ego of others.
There are other women who take offense to "Yo, ma," from one guy, but melt for the next man who uses it.
You can't enforce a law without a set precedent for what warrants the law to be enforced.
Just as quick as it can be used on the "Smile, baby," blowhards, it can be used against those advocating for THIS if their "Excuse me," happens to offend a woman who has had a bad day.
In her mind, YOU were getting ready to come on to her.
Nevermind that you were simply asking the time or directions. YOU offended her, and YOU don't get to decide what she deems as harassment.
We are discussing
criminalization.
If we leave that up to
interpretation, the term "slippery slope," is an understatement.
