No lie I had a co worker who’s dog died. A damn dog. He let us know he wouldn’t be in for a week and then proceeded to ask for privacy. I couldn’t wrap my head around it because … dog. Moral of that story is pet folks are crazy … except me I’m sane. As for black folks I get it. White folks naturally just over share so it’s in them. Privacy is taught and drilled from an early age in our community though.

Asking for donations is one thing. If your asking someone for money then a certain amount of information SHOULD be required.

All the rest of that shyt naw. If someone is asking for prayers then thats exactly what their asking for…PRAYER. They aren’t under any obligation to disclose how their loved one died

Bruh, if you want privacy then keep it private. How you gonna ask for shyt and then get mad when folks wanna know why you asking?

If you don’t want people to know how your cousin died then don’t get on Facebook talking about your cousin died. That’s gonna be folks first question, you know that any time death is brought up.

I've noticed it too.

Another thing I notice is how we like to keep the cause of death under wraps, but love grieving all damn day on Facebook to get reactions and comments. That shyt always seemed weird to me. It's like a family member's death is clout to some people.

Happened when my stepfather died. It was heart related but it was genetic. Still people die. Just weird we do this.
