Love, Peace, Health, and Wealth
I grew up in central Pa and interacted mostly with black people from Harrisburg, DMV , Philly. It really skewed my view on the average black wealth situation.
contrary to belief not everyone in LA is brokeI'm about to read the article, but that lone dot in California already has me![]()
Damn I was considered moving out there next some next year. Guess i'll start giving NYC a look.DC sucks. Most bougie black people ever and everyone thinks they will be president. There are opportunities however. I couldn't take it. Had to stay in NYC.
PG County is the richest black majority CountyAbout half a dozen Texas cities
Y'all eating like that in Maryland?

keep trying to tell folks to come to the DMV and live life.
Government contracts. Private businesses. Non-profit shyt. Easy back and forth to the south or NYC.
I see my tax dollars working every day.
Not saying we don't have problems
But I def think it's a place black folks need to come to if they need to get their heads right.
I think they're full brehI have family out there and I may move there soon. They told me the IT job market is good out there.
Roosevelt is not a hell hole. You're mistaking roosevelt for hempstead, because the issues in Hempstead often spill over to roosevelt. Here’s a reality check for some of those places in NY with income above the national average:
Wyandanch, roosevelt and Gordon heights are considered hellholes with above average poverty and crime. That’s not always the case but it is the stigma that surrounds those areas.
Living in NY just means you make more, not that your standard of living is better. NY metro area is a place where people can be in poverty with a household income of $100,000. Income should always be compared to cost of living in America.
It is. If your resume is on point there a lot of opportunities for a consulting gig here.I have family out there and I may move there soon. They told me the IT job market is good out there.
theres hella Africans down here and DMV has one of the largest and wealthiest black communities (the whole diaspora, except Latin) so i'm sure you'll be fine. There's black people everywhere down here but most are concentrated in Maryland or NE/SE DC.I'm likely moving down from Jersey to the DMV next year if my med school interviews in the area go well(which I'm pretty confident).
What are some of the hotspots to look at for black folks? Any networking clubs? Proximity to hospitals?
