Not sure what you think you're mic dropping on? I'm from LI. Got family in Hempstead. Friends from Baldwin, Freeport, and Roosevelt. To call it a "hell hole" is hyperbole of the worst sort.

If Roosevelt is a hell hole, I'd hate to hear what you call other black communities.

You're hyperlinking articles when I'm actually out there. I'd tell you to find the articles that talk about how the school district, or point out that this study is based off of 1) median household income 2) that encompasses multiple census tracts. But that level of nuance and disciplined discussion was eradicated the moment you introduced the term "hell hole".

I get you from there but it doesn’t change the stigma. I’m sorry breh but the first reaction people have when you say roosevelt is :scust:

Like I said that’s the “stigma” associated with the area. I get you lived there that’s cool. I grew up in the BX, wonderful area, blacks and Boriquas living in harmony, block parties and lots of fun. I rep that over anything. People on the outside considered it a crack filled shythole where motherfukkers did not value human life. It was hyperbole of the worst sort, similar to what you say, but it did not change the stigma. The crime numbers when compared to other areas didn’t help either.

Such is life man:manny:. For most people living in an area it may be great, but the outsider looking in thinks it’s bad. Especially when you compare crime numbers and school stats. Hence all the articles and stories I linked about your ‘great’ town. shyt even Chuck D whose is from roosevelt talks about how fukked up it is/was. I think he used the word hellhole too. :sas2:

As others have said this doesn't take into account the cost of living in those high paying areas. If African Americans had had more access to home ownership 4 decades ago in those areas maybe things would be different.
