This is a good question. Rejecting it ideologically enmass is a start. And rejecting those who attempt to align it with the social and economic progress of black people. I mean, male privilege was definitely a thing back then regardless of social status, however it's disingenuous to compare the privilege of male slaves to white women. I understand the underlying comparison of womanhood to chattel, but that in itself dismisses a non-enslaved woman's own agency.
