Many workers stay at companies years, time in which they could’ve invested in a higher education, starting a business, or learning a trade.

What kills me is that folks be comfortable where they’re at and literally BRAG about working excessive amounts of overtime… 60+ hours a week. I had one friend happy about “making more than the managers” by working overtime.

I was like, “The managers and supervisors be on salary working 30 to 40 hours a week and get bonuses fool”. When work is slow and they’re asked to stay home, the supervisors STILL get paid too. nikka got mad. In the same breath, I asked “why not just try to get promoted to a supervisor?”

Dude had the nerve to tell me that he rather work overtime and that it was too much responsibility. He didn’t want to lead a team.
