Black men, how did we allow this matriarchy in the black community?

Slavery didn't bring in the matriarchy. This is a newer phenom. Statistically black families were together until the late 60s early 70s.

I could drop some gems on this thread, but it'd fall on death ears for the sake of bashing feminism, welfare, etc.

The deterioration of the black family is so big, but was done in a (very) subtle way and it's something that every facet of the black community played a role in.

pre-slavery and exposal to europeans west africa was patriarchal?

didn't exposal to europeans spread both misogyny and homophobia among minorities? not just blacks but native americans as well

do you believe that slave owners put their own financial aspirations aside and allowed slave fathers to stay with their families instead of selling them?

what about slaves that were 'married' that lived on different plantations and were owned by different masters? would those families be considered matriarchal?

were most black slave families patriarchal with the white man being the patriarch (the slaves owned by white men)

:dwillhuh:

Were majority women running the black community in the 50s? Why were family structures better then than now?

I am just saying, slavery didn't bring in this matriarchy.

You forgot about the 'system of 'White Supremacy' which was created as a result of slavery which is still in effect. If you don't think it is happening now, then nothing else I present as evidence is going to make you think any differently. Our disparity goes way beyond the 50's and 60's. We only seemed to be better off because there were more job opportunities and a family could be sustained by ONE income.

We were better off because fathers were at home (statistically proven). I am trying to figure out how it declined so much from the 50s?

So after we blame slavery then what? Watch the black community burn?

blacks gotta rewrite - history:
blacks history is good and great
anything bad about black history was a misunderstanding and not completely accurate
blacks are spaceship leaders, most of the blacks on planet are resting
blacks wanted to be brought to America, Carribeans, Europe to later dominate the land
the black male is God
anyone who hates black, is a racist
the black woman is queen
the black child has been misled, but the community will fix the child...
blacks will create some new solution to bring money in...
slavery never happened, black were brought as investments, and blacks
need reparations from "slavery" investments.
cac discriminated towards blacks because secretly they have been envious of blacks prowess and stamina
blacks are one the meekest folks on earth, look how they got treated.

When we decided that p*ssy>principles. Hell, we decided p*ssy>money. Seriously, black women have power because women=p*ssy. When black men muster up some Incredible Hulk ass strength to say no to chasing p*ssy, before I myself am living good, and decide that being a good man matters more, the black community is going to be a fukking matriarchy. And until the US government collapses and black men are put through another fukking depression, I don't see much of anyting changing.

you say they were better because they fit your european ideas of what a family should look like. you say they were better because things would have been to your benefit if they still progressed today. tell me, if you found someone who felt the 1950s political structure was just fine do you think they'd be white or black? of course white because it was of benefit to them.

i think european ways have rubbed off on many of you. we hate it when whites try to speak on us as if they know what is right for us, and here you go speaking on black women as if you knew what family structure was best for them at the time

a low divorce rate does not mean things were fine. divorce used to be very taboo. people would just stick it out and suffer.

These types of threads (no disrespect to the TS) always end up in an impotent circle jerk with people conspiring to take power from other entities when they haven't manage to empower themselves yet. 1st things first.
