I'm amazed at the amount of people completely missing the point here. He's not saying that rims, booty, and hip hop or whatever is
bad. He's saying that a magazine that focuses on these things should not be called "
Black Men magazine" Our interests as a gender in a race cannot be reduced down to a few things. He's right about this. Many people here are getting it twisted thinking he's in here hating on rims and hos when he's trying to argue that there is more to black men than that. The magazine should be called rims and hoes monthly or some shyt.
Magazines like that play to stereotypes of what white people and others assume that black people are. It makes it seem like we're one dimensional characters and if you want to know what the black male community thinks, just pick up an issue and read up on who the latest platinum selling rapper is and what the 2015 Escalade is going to look like
Also people that are in here saying that there are "white" magazines are likely pointing to the fact that these magazines such as maxim feature content that caters to white people and ignores the interests of black men e.g. 5 different types of blonde model, articles written by white people that never mention racism, or race, accomplishments by people of color, or take a black perspective on certain issues.
