I'm Caribbean American. I've said this many times, I'm cool with not getting reparations from America and that FBA or ADOS should receive them. My question is, do y'all really think the government will give them out?

Get black folks to become single issue voters over something that isn’t going to happen at the federal level anywhere near what they’ve been “told” they deserve. Then get them to fight with other black people about why they shouldn’t happen so the white man never even has to take a vote on it.
It's been 5 years, we're heading into a new election and "ADOS" and "FBA" have NOTHING to show for it. Reparations is a non-issue this electiom but IMMIGRATION is. Reparation threads barely do numbers but IMMIGRATION threads go crazy. A lot of brehs need to stop playing and apply for a job with border patrol, etc

I think if folks actually took it seriously and mobilized behind it, it would get done. I also think it'd be easier to get the government to sign off on reparations than it'll be to get ADOS to come together on this issue and be serious about it.

If your family has been here for atleast 100 years, you have an argument for some type of reparations for jim crow even if it's not as much as descendants of slaves.
The U.S. doesn't owe descendants of Jamaican slaves reparations for slavery in America.
If one of your parents is FBA then you're FBA.
If you have 3 white grandparents you're borderline white and don't deserve reparations because you more than likely benefited from white privilege.

im not sure what you want. This is the most people have talked about reparations and the importance of ethnicity/lineage. That needs time to marinate
Alot of us are still stuck in lalaland and never took ethnicity/lineage seriously,like yourself. Theres still alot of "im content with just being regular black" energy still around
