They’re turning down hundreds of millions in profit because…why exactly. Making this a conspiracy makes no sense.

The reality is the director doesn’t want to recast and given how these things go, there are a lot of timid white suits concerned that recasting would be seen as disrespectful and become a problem with black audiences. Do I believe that would happen? Hell no. But this is the same company that is scared to do anything without an audience/demographic test.

This also explains why they’re so afraid to put their foot down with the Shuri actress, who is fukking up production with her refusal to get the vaccine AND said some weird shyt about gay people. They don’t want to throw her in the bushes because they’re afraid black audiences will get mad.
