When is the last time uve been to a black church in the hood ? I'm not going to debate u as to whether the church helps the black community as a whole, but for individual black ppl struggling in day to day life fellowship and spirituality keeps them grounded and sane. It's the last bit of hope and something to look forward to that they have.

so the black church is weed now? no disrespect but this is what Rastafarians believe weed does.

church needs to be a place for community development and pick up the pieces where these crooked ass politicians fall short.

Wrong. I'm talking about 'rebellion' because people constantly bring up this point of Christianity making blacks passive and turn the other cheek, when in reality, none of these other so called movements are doing anything more than Christians are doing. The greatest act within my religion isn't death. It's sacrifice and overcoming death. It has no solution or endgame in America for blacks? Take care of your family, take care of your own, love one another. I'm not sure what's so hard about that. Tell me what these other religions have to offer. Tell me what atheism has to offer. What is hilarious is how Christianity is being held to a higher standard than these 'other religions'. If these other religions, nor atheism has fixed the 'black mans problems', then why should Christianity be held to a standard you don't hold for your own religion?
Being someone that is not passive and does not turn the other cheek, doesn't mean that they are therefore inclined to a physical rebellion. Like I said, this is an extreme.
The 'taking care of your family and your own' is not a concept exclusive to Christianity, or religion in general for that matter. And even if every Black person in America did this, it wouldn't solve the broader institutional problems we face. Taking care of your family does little to nothing to change the status quo of the masses of Black people, and at best, our status in America is 2nd class citizens.

No one is holding Christianity to a higher standard. These discussions, are just being critical of the religion that was forced upon by an open enemy, and the religion that we overwhelmingly have practiced while here in America. The religion that offers the most comfort here in America.

Not everyone smokes weed nor do they want to. I also can't tell if ur implying that weed as a spiritual anchor is better than attending church ?

The proper role of the church in the black community has evolved over years. We all have different expectations of what a church is "supposed " to do. In earlier times it was integral to grassroots movements and used as a literal pillar for social change. What the church does now in today's day and age I'm not even sure there's a proper answer for. But that's in MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. if u go have a conversation with a woman who lost her kids to gun violence , can barely afford to keep her lights on and is raising 4 grandkids, I guarantee u she'll say that the church keeps her going and strength In God is what gives her the strength to face each day. Just because y'all r high and mighty and have found something else that keeps u going doesn't mean that it's like that for everybody

With all due respect, we go by stats. Like we said, the Black church puts in less than what the members put in. The church is suppose to be a stronghold for Blacks. In the past three decades it's been the opposite of that. Just like the Congressional Black Caucus. They proper answer is calling these pastors out. We need to hold them responsible. White and Hispanic churches make business deals on the side for their people. So, they can work small jobs. Black churches EXTORT our people and sell them fear. The promise them peace in the next life, but they don't help the people now. Our people need to know how to defend themselves with guns. Even though I'm a Centre-Leftist I believe in self-defense. Just like the Irish did.

Answer me this  Why do Black men make up only 20% of the church? What is the Black church doing wrong? I know. Spreading ducktalkes and downing/bashing the Black man. Female preachers :hhh: Eating Pork :hhh: Church on Sundays :hhh:
