This all started because of a cac shytting on some Ques stepping. At a convention that is sponsored by the D9s and HBCUs.

And truth be told a lot of white people don't want non-white people in these spaces. Some of the conventions have done work to create a more welcoming environment and they get a lot bullshyt complaints about the dumbest shyt.

No he isn't right.
I know because I would but that time frame only 20-25 years ago.

That said we had our own spaces for black nerds and real, non sports , video gamers. We would find each other and interact on PC and we would LAN as well, Xbox made that shyt even easier

We never wanted anything other than a collection of people who focused on the interest. The funny part is it was a open community we didn't hate on anyone and invited other blacks into the space, as long as the interest and community was the priority there was no issue

Now days due to casualness of everything you have these kids who want the same spaces I had when I was young except they are getting kicked out of it by idiots who just are too lazy to make their own space and own events and want to take over something already established.

Communities evolved and change over time as they gain (or lose) popularity. It is what it is.
Discovering anime in the 90s was a different experience than ppl who discovered it in the 2000s. It's probably people at the convention who got into anime in the 2020s so yea you gonna have a wide swarth of people who don't necessarily fit into the buckets that existed when you got put on to shyt
