Black people...search your feelings. Do we think reparations can be effectively fought for in 2020?

The “racial wealth gap” is predominantly a result of the top 2% being white folks. Remove them and “wealth” and more importantly quality of life is very similar between average black and white families.
I agree with your first sentence and disagree with the latter part. This is a war against classes. There's no reason why the top 1% should compile the majority of americas wealth. They are the ones who are responsible for white supremacy. Their dollars turn regular/poor white families against us every election. Then to top it all off they go and do all this humanitarian work in these 3rd world corrupt countries when they should be focusing on America first. Middle class white families have more opportunities to accumulate wealth than middle class black families. The system was designed for them.

This isn’t really true. “The system” has been squeezing middle class whites for decades.

Yes it’s true white people have more opportunities, but ultimately the system isn’t working for them either.

Wealth is not limited to money in the bank, but a substantial amount of money in the bank that doesn't have to be touched for day to day living definitely qualifies as wealth.

Thomas Shapiro, author of The Hidden Cost of Being African American says

"The total value of things families own minus their debts."
Going by your quote money in the bank has nothing to do with wealth. Do you understand the quote you posted?

Post receipts.
Its simple math. 3 white men have as much wealth as 50% of the country combined.

Remove them and the “racial wealth gap” shrinks instantly.

This doesn’t even make fukking sense:dahell:

Cash in the bank=/=wealth.

250k in the bank does not make your voice any louder.

The “wealth gap” has nothing to do with race or reparations. Remember all the wealth in America is locked up with 2% of the country. The average white family is not really better off than the average black family.

It’s America’s “squeeze the middle class” policy that is the reason for the current wealth distribution. Only way to fix the “wealth gap” is to fix the policy that created it.
Money rules the world, knowing a household of 4 people has a million dollars liquid changes the game breh. You hold the money, you change the rules. Policy is most important but the cash cows move the needle.

It depends on how they're proposed. IF we're talking land grands and programs that help blacks a whole, then yes. But if you start talking cutting checks that will never fly. I think the disservice the reparations crowd does it framing it as "free money."

This is a dangerous piece of conservative bullshyt ass propaganda. There is something a median. Then there is something called a average. A median is the middle of a distribution. So it takes out the highs and lows and look at the middle. An average adds up everything to get an average total of a group of numbers. The racial wealth gap uses fukking medians and averages. It doesn't go like, "So here is all the wealthy White Americans on the Forbes list and here is poor White people, let's add all this shyt up and compare it to Blacks."

Median wealth of White Americans takes out the poorest of Whites and richest of Whites and looks at the middle of Whites. Jeff Bezos and his friends aren't counted in the median wealth of Americans or White Americans, they are cut out intentionally.

(And top 1 percent of Americans own 40 percent of the wealth in the USA. There's a lot of wealth left after the top 1 percent and that what is left is owned mostly by Whites. Black people have none of it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-in-the-past-50-years/?utm_term=.8a62f156d1e6)

What you said was fukking stupid and wrong.

Every article about the racial wealth gap uses medians and averages and tells you how it is calculated. You could've did a Google search and it would've taken you two minutes.

The Racial Wealth Gap: Addressing America's Most Pressing Epidemic
The wealth gap measures the difference between the median wealth of blacks versus the median wealth of whites. Almost all studies calculate wealth by adding up total assets (e.g., cash, retirement accounts, home, etc.) then subtracting liabilities (e.g., credit card debt, student loans, mortgage, etc.) The resulting figure is your net worth.

You might think that that the economic outlook for the black community and other people of color has gotten better lately, given our President touting black unemployment is as low as it’s ever been. Yet RZW shows that far from getting better, the total economic picture for black people is still deteriorating. In fact, by 2020 (just two years away) black and Latino households are projected to lose even more wealth: 18 percent for the former, 12 percent for the latter. After those declines, the median white household will own 86 times more wealth than its black counterpart, and 68 times more wealth than its Latino one.

Here's a chart that shows median and average wealth of White and Black families. The middle White family, meaning, White people who are in the White middle class (a literal numerical description) are worth 6 figures. Black people are worth Ronald Goldstein's bar mitzvah gift from his Uncle Leo. The poorest White family is the middle class of a Black family. The average wealth of a Black family ain't even close to the median wealth of a White family.

And people actually dapped that stupid shyt you posted.

This is from 2013 and it is undoubtedly worst right now.

Here's a interactive graph that shows racial wealth with the median and the average gap across multiple decades. You can see the racial wealth gap increase over the generations. Nine Charts about Wealth Inequality in America (Updated)

Families of color will soon make up a majority of the population, but most continue to fall behind whites in building wealth. In 1963, the average wealth of white families was $121,000 higher than the average wealth of nonwhite families. By 2016, the average wealth of white families ($919,000) was over $700,000 higher than the average wealth of black families ($140,000) and of Hispanic families ($192,000).

Put another way, white family wealth was seven times greater than black family wealth and five times greater than Hispanic family wealth in 2016. Despite some fluctuations over the past five decades, this disparity is as high or higher than was in 1963.

This how we end up in an idiocracy, people saying the most untrue shyt and people going along with it because it sounds reasonable.

Really said that the average White family isn't that well off compared to the average Black family.

Really?

Politely fukk out of here.

I’m not sure you understand what the hell you are talking about here.

“Median” does not remove the highs and lows. Median is the literal middle point if you take all values into account. With a system as top heavy as the American economy this eschews the results profusely. The white “median” is inflated by the fact that 2% of the country hold all the wealth and most of them are white.

That’s truth. Your articles lack context in order to fan the racial flames. In reality middle class people regardless of race of been stagnant or even in decline for the last 60+ years.

Does ADOS care about ending the drug war? that would undoubtedly help blacks
Does ADOS care about ending the prison industrial complex? that would undoubtedly help blacks
Does ADOS care about investing in public schools/education? That would help blacks

Not a fan of Kamala, but I never went after her for reparations. I've never gone against anyone for reparations

IDK, I just think that ADOS just wants money, and is ignoring any other policy that helps black ppl if it doesnt directly put money in their pockets.

I'm black and I'm not a hardliner on reparations. I already know imma be waiting a long ass time. I might as well Operation Grind & Stack like i have been instead of waiting on a policy that might not come to fruition.

Median is the middle.

So you have Bezos on one end with his $134 Billion net worth and Cletus on the other end with his $2 net worth. Median would be the middle number between the two.

Here's a visual to help explain :lolbron:
