Em didn't get play in the hood. Yes everyone knew who he was, yes a lot of people owned his music but you weren't hearing no Em in the hood club, bars, lounges or strip clubs.

Back in those hyper critical days i wouldn’t have wanted to be the one nikka playing Eminem in the whip or some place that could be heard in public. nikkax might have attempted to try you lol

@Kliq_Souf you’re right...I forgot without me & cleaning out my closet got played on Hot 97 too but...

I remember Flex used to play this too...was Brit Brit a fixture on the block, parties or clubs? lol

I also remember 106 & Park premiering once upon a time...

If I’m not mistaking people “voted” for it too a couple of times as well. Did the hip swivel have the block clicking? lol

My point is the business of Eminemwill always be a conversation in itself.

In Brooklyn and the places throughout the city I traveled you just flat out didn’t hear that shyt. Maybe in headphones but in public?

Absolutely not

Comparing apples and oranges
Brittney and Shakira are pop artists, Eminem was hiphop... white boy or popularity aside
U would hear Em right in the radio mix with Hov, X, Luda, Ja, Nelly, and all the big rap acts in the early 2000’s.
Shyt I think Em performed at the first BET awards too.

I remember NSync and later Gwen Stefani getting urban radio spins based off their Neptune production. Them being on 106 too. It was definitely a weird time.

I’m arguing breh saying Eminem got no spins on urban radio, which is not true at all.

You dont have to argue with people that claim this lie; just recognize them as cornballs who either didnt have their finger on the pulse of hip hop during those years; or young nikkas who were in diapers at the time trying to ACT like they knew what was going on.

But everybody know Eminem had no shortage of black fans. nikkas gave him an ear on at least his first three albums off of Dr. Dre's clout alone.

Absolutely no real nikka was going to bypass a chance to hear a track produced by Dre or any album with Dre on engineering in that time frame.

Thats just 100% facts. Anyone claiming otherwise just outs themselves as being disconnected from the game during that timeframe. Not worth arguing over.

Em in the black community was

1999-2004

And then it was a rap. The last 17 years he been propped up by cacs

Facts. Last Eminem album black people seriously fukked with was Eminem Show, which I believe to this day is his best album. I remember critics trashing Encore HEAVY when it dropped and shortly after no nikka gave a fuk bout Marshall

When Em dissed Michael Jackson that’s when people really fell back on him. Even Stevie Wonder checked Em for that stunt.

This is the real.

Every nicca had some Eminem, one way or the other.
We might not have been blasting it in the whip, but we was listening.
If you didn’t cop one of the albums (bootlegs count), you had

“Dead Wrong”
“Sh*t On You”
“Any Man”
“Renegade”
The Bad Meets Evil tape from Game Recordings with the half-nekkid broads on the cover

...and you didn’t skip nann one of them verses.

The Eminem Show is where a good number of us were about done. It had some decent cuts, but that was when he started repeating the same themes. Not to mention, that’s when he started making his own beats and NO THANKS.

I was with you until the last paragraph. Eminem Show was clearly his best album, had his best beats, and where he was using less shock value and comedy in his rhymes. Encore is where he started losing black fans, as his comedy and shock value rose, but including constant yelling over tracks, and his beats got worse. We were not messing with garbage like Mosh, Puke, Rainman, and Big Weenie:hhh:
