rock from a marketing POV was actually hijacked but "blacks" never stopped playing rock, it just got grouped in with Soul/Funk



house and techno was always regional in the USA so if you didn't live in Det, Chi, NJ, NYC etc...you as a "black" person probably weren't even fully aware of the origins. The thing is, the white who love the music since the 80s are fully aware that it's "Black" music

Black rappers aren't going anywhere but there's def a growing 'white hip hop' niche that exists that seems separate from the rest of the culture. Maybe it should be called something else but you got a whole subgenre with cats like lil dikky, hoodie Allen, watsky, g eazy and more who can blow up and eat good and tour, while prolly have virtually no black/minority fans.

It doesn't seem to impact the rest of the culture really and since we don't seem to rate/acknowledge them on the whole, maybe the niche should be called something else
